Google might already have taken control of our lives as a result of the information it has about us through its many services but it is the individuals employees at Google who concerns me more than Google as an entity.

David Barksdale, a 27 year old software engineer working for google as a troubleshooter at Google sites was fired when he was found guilty of illegally accessing private information about four kids whom he met through a Seattle based technology group,gossip site gawker reports. Barksdale was found guilty of accessing the information through Google Voice Call logs, Gmail contact list and Google chat transcripts. He also unblocked himself from Gtalk buddy list when one of the fellows blocked him. Read more…

Many times we come across a situation when we send a text message on cell phone only to realize that we have sent a wrong message or a right one to a wrong person. Same goes for email messages. The only difference is that, a text message once sent cant be unsent but thanks to Gmail which provides us the ‘undo sent’ features which enables us to un-send any message immediately after sending it.

Google, the giant, the Big G, the Internet God, and what not?! Undoubtedly, it is the most successful company ever on the web. But the “failure is a part of success” rule settled true for the big G as well. You might have tried dozens of Google services, but most of us don’t know how many failed lab ‘dropouts’ are buried in their Graveyard. The guys at WordStream have listed all those unfortunate Google services, who somehow failed to impress the masses.

As a freelance web designer i have always had hard time getting the right font on the site, most of the time, clients ask for a font which they use on their stationary and which is simply not a web-safe font, to tackle that some solutions are available to the average designer’s disposal and it is his job to select the right solution for the client.
While web fonts have just started to gain the interest, other players have came along and with new solutions to this very age old problem. Introducing Google WebFonts, a new service by Google which lets web designers use the Google Font API to apply several different styled fonts on their websites without the fear of design inconsistency.
